Golden river

Golden river, golden river,
you took my love from me
On your waves of golden hue,
you carried her with you
And broke my heart
a million million ways

Hank Snow, "Golden River," 1952.

In reality, the North Branch of the Chicago River did not break my heart a couple of hours ago as I ran through Morton Grove's Linne Woods.

But it was a golden river, to be sure.
