Baseball box score oddity

The Chicago White Sox, who have been playing well since getting spanked 20-1 by the Minnesota Twins last week, punished the Kansas City Royals 11-2 tonight.

Despite the offensive onslaught, Sox lefty Clayton Richard dominated KC well enough to be named Comcast Sports Channel's star of the game.

White Sox color analyst Steve Stone, a very good pitcher in his day, noted that a box score oddity occurred this evening.

Every South Side starter (except of course Richard) got a hit and scored a run. Good news for the White Sox, who placed slugger Carlos Quentin on the disabled list with an injury I'm personally familiar with--plantar fasciitis.
