Three townships vote to secede from Cook County in advisory referendum

Voters in three townships in the northwestern corner of Cook County voted "Yes" to secede from the county.

Last year, Todd "Corruption Tax" Stroger slapped an additional one percent sales tax on county residents, angering everyone, with the exception of Stroger's relatives and cronies.

Unfortunately, forming a new county in Illinois is very difficult, supporters of the secession drive are backing new laws to make breaking away easier.
