Obama's piracy distraction

During the twenty year long presidential campaign--okay, two years--whenever the Barack Obama operation was confronted by a subject they didn't want to talk about--Bill Ayers, Tony Rezko, Rev. Wright, they would dismiss it a "distraction."

The president didn't use that term yesterday, but the message was clear-- another "distraction."

REPORTER: Can we get a quick reaction to the pirates, the Somali pirates?

OBAMA: Guys, we're talking about housing right now.

Rush Limbaugh phrased it best yesterday, Obama is voting "present" again.

Pat Hickey reminds us that we have to go back to 1804 for the last time an American-flagged ship was captured by pirates. Thomas Jefferson, alone among world leaders, knew how to handle the problem: He sent the Marines to the Barbary Coast to initiate his version of change.

The 19th century Euro-wimps thought that it was best to pay off the Barbary pirates.

200 years later, the Euro-wimps pay ransom to the Somali pirates.

That needs to change.

Oh...I'm certain John McCain, had he won the presidency, would be handling this situation much differently.

  1. Obama is just inviting more piracy - and not just from Somalis. North Korea is watching his every move. Obama is so weak and irrelevant, the world's terrorists are redoubling their efforts to acquire weapons and plan their next attack.

Obama's Apology Tour didn't help. Europe is still laughing.

  2. Let's get some Marines or some Navy Seals and take back that ship from the Somalis!

  3. Well, Obama claims to be from the party of Jefferson.

  4. MM's comment is telling...
The "Pueblo" incident comes to mind as another time we didn't respond with proper force.
The "Mayaguez" is an ugly reminder that when we do respond with force we need to do it with proper planning.

Capt. Phillips escapes and no one is watching. I think this incident more closely resembles Pueblo.

  5. Obama, talk softly and call in the Navy Seals.

Bush, look steely eyed into the camera and say, "bring it on."

Oh how nice to have a leader rather than a poser in the white house for a change.

    Crow, anyone?

Crow???!! I actually came onto this because the question I input into the search engine was "How did Obama take advantage of the Boston Marathon debacle to distract our attention from his real agenda?" Can't wait to see the White House logs for today.
