NowNew Hampshire exclusive: Media ignoring Tea Parties

NowNew Hampshire confirms what many conservatives already know: The national mainstream media, with one exception, is ignoring the Tea Party movement. Conservatives believe that journalists aren't sympathetic to the the growing furor over excessive federal spending, seemingly endless bailouts, and government encroachment into private sector concerns.

The charge is confirmed by an exclusive analysis conducted by NowHampshire.com of the number of cable news stories featuring the Tea Parties during the month of March to date.

Since March 1st, Fox News Channel has mentioned the Tea Party phenomenon twenty-nine times. But that’s essentially the end of the road for event organizers in terms of media attention. CNN has mentioned the Tea Parties only four times and MSNBC only twice.

The picture on the right is from the February 27 Chicago Tea Party. Local media coverage was lukewarm, but considering the rally took place within walking distance of almost every Chicago media outlet, you can rightfully say it was mostly ignored here.

  1. Of course they are! It wasn't organized by Acorn, so where's the story?
I am a part of organizing one in West Chester PA, outside of Philadelphia. We plan on alerting all of the news outlets. Will let you know how many cover it!
