Bridges are ubiquitous photographic subjects and they are popular metaphors for transition and change. As for this bridge, its span traverses the North Shore Channel and McCormick Boulevard. It serves one purpose--carrying el trains from the Chicago Transportation Authority's Howard Street station to suburban Skokie.
