Card check short of 60 votes in the Senate?

The Employee Free Choice Act, one of the most divisive pieces of legislation to reach Washington in years, is expected to be introduced to the House today.

The bill, which will strip workers of their decades-long right of a free election to decide whether they want to join a union (What free choice?) may not have the requisite 60 votes to pass Senate.

Three Democrats who voted for EFCA in 2007, Blanche Lincoln and Mark Pryor of Arkansas and Mary Landrieu of Louisiana, are wavering. So is Republican Arlen Specter of Pennsylvania who voted for card check two years ago.
