Blago on "Today" and does anyone know what "impeachment" means?

The Rod Blagojevich sympathy tour continues. This time, he appeared on NBC's "Today Show."

He once again proclaimed his innocence, and he discussed how he did not attempt to sell Barack Obama's Senate seat.

Blago likes the national media. That's because they're less likely ask him why since-convicted felon Tony Rezko was the quartermaster of this "pay-to-play" operation during his first term, or why his other principal fundraiser, Christopher Kelley, recently pleaded guilty to tax fraud.

The Today Show's Meredith Vieira interviewed Blago, and the disgraced former governor went into campaign mode, speaking about his health care and free-rides-for-senior initiatives.

The only revelation from the "Today Show" interview was that certian "leading senators" offered a deal for him to resign, keep receiving his paycheck for the rest of his term, but in essence, Blago said, becoming "a ghost payroller."

The Chicago Democrat will be David Letterman's guest on tonight's "Late Show."

Oh, I have to get his off my chest. When a public official is impeached, it's roughly the same as an indictment. What the Illinois Senate did, Ms. Vierra, on Thursday, was remove Blago from office. He had already been impeached.

You are not the only one in the media, Meredith, making this mistake, but considering you probably clear seven-figures reading a teleprompter, can you at least get your facts straight?

Sheesh!
