I'm not really sure what that structure in the picture is. I captured that image late in the day on US Route 30, better known as the Lincoln Highway, in Lee County, Illinois.
To me, it's too fat for a silo, too narrow for a barn, and not airy enough to be a corn crib.
It's a nice picture, though. Whatever it is.

Nice picture John, it sure is an
ReplyDeleteinteresting structure. It kinda
looks like a grain silo that had
been converted into a house.
Missile silo? That surely isn't copper, is it? Whatever it is, nice find.
ReplyDeleteIt could be a Mushroom farm, it
ReplyDeletelooks like a dark enough place for
them.
Gotta be grain storage of some sort, John.
ReplyDeleteMy Mom, seeing a structure like that would say...
"You know a guy went crazy in there, don't you?"
"No Mom, I didn't."
"He was lookin' for a corner to pee in!"
(Sorry 'bout that!)
That was funny.
ReplyDeleteI agree that it's a grain storage bin. The windows on top are surely for ventilation, not for the view. Maybe they can be opened from the outside because they surely can't be opened from the inside if the bin is full of grain.
ReplyDeleteThanks Genevieve, I figured you'd know.
