Burris appointment blocked

Roland Burris opened up big can of worms by accepting Rod Blagojevich's appointment to the US Senate.

This morning, Blagojevich's acting chief of staff, Clayton Harris, hand delivered the paperwork for the Burris appointment to the secretary of the Senate, who rejected it.

Blago has an acting chief of staff because his previous chief, John Harris, resigned a few days after receiving a criminal complaint.

Once again, this Burris controversey occurred only because the Democratic-controlled Illinois General Assembly didn't act to take the power to make the appointment from our crooked governor.

A special election still could resolve this mess.

Maybe Illinois can find an African American who's a Republican to make Senator.

I'm betting Fitzgerald will eff this up. Just like he effed up the Valerie Plame Leak case. He'll nail someone other than Blago on perjury or something. Some say he could have brought a strong case against Hot Rod in July, but apparently he didn't want to hurt the Obamassiah's election chances. Then again, maybe he jumped the gun, and should have waited for 'the transaction' to occur.
