While Saxby Chambliss saved, at least until 2010, the Republican Party from facing a Democratic filibuster proof majority, the ballot recounting continues in Minnesota.
With just under 93 percent of the vounts retallied, Norm Coleman, the Republican incumbent, maintains his narrow lead over former comedian Al Franken, the Democratic-Farmer-Labor candidate. The St. Paul Pioneer Press has Coleman's lead at 303 votes.
But there is a wrinkle tonight. Election officials have found 171 uncounted ballots from a precinct in Maplewood, a St. Paul suburb. That precinct was narrowly won by Franken.
The Franken camp is calling this a game-changer, but as I commented last night, Franken needs to work on his concession speech. It's only 171 votes. Powerline reports that Coleman's people say the new votes only adds a net of 37 to Franken's total.

ReplyDeleteWhen will the U.S. Justice Dept send a few hundred lawyers/investigators to Mn to put half of the people involved in this farce of an election in prison, or better yet, execute them and all of their offspring to prevent the democrat criminal disease from spreading?
