Antoin "Tony" Rezko is free on bail, with very strict conditions. Friends of Rezko came up with all kinds of collateral to put together an $8.5 million bail, so Rezko can spend his nights in his Wilmette mansion, rather than Chicago's Metropolitan Correctional Center.
Rezko must wear an electronic monitoring bracelet, and can only travel between his North Shore home and the federal courthouse in downtown Chicago where he is being tried on corruption charges.
Which is a bit of a shame, because his mansion is just a couple of blocks away from Lake Michigan, and as you'll see in the below post, it's a beatiful day in the Chicago area.
His passport? The alleged political fixer surrendered it. So did his wife.

Ah, yes, the U.S. passport. But Rezko holds dual citizenship - U.S. and Syrian. According to the January 16, 2007, ex parte, he dismissed his Syrian connection as if it didn't matter anymore, forgetting to remind St. Eve that he had made at least 20 trips to the Middle East during the two years prior to being taken into custody in October 2006. And let's not forget his and Rita's relatives in Canada to the north and Florida to the south. And, by the way, whatever happened to his off-shore U.S. island property?
