Bill Ayers Univ. of North Dakota appearance highlights college's hypocrisy

The Say Anything Blog has a study in contrasts, uh, make that hypocrisy, at the University of North Dakota.

A sorority at the school held a private cowboy party where a few of the guests dressed as Native Americans. The sorority's national office and the dean of the UND's student office placed the the group on probation.

Meanwhile, the president of the university, Charles Kupchella, doesn't seem upset that unrepentant former Weather Underground terrorist, Bill Ayers, will lecture there next week. Free Grand Forks Herald registration is required for the link. But he's supportive of the investigation of the sorority party.

Say Anything has more in this second post.

Even in a conservative state like North Dakota, you can count on academics siding with the forces of political-correctness, as well as using the security blanket of free speech to justify inviting a former urban bomber to spew his nonsense.

Ayers has free speech rights. But that does not mean he that he has "the right" to be paid (or is he travelling to Grand Forks for free?) to express them.
