A rare Glenn and Helen Show podcast doubleheader has just been released. The first in the batter's box is former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani.
Giuliani's campaign has a hit a rough spot--he hasn't recovered (so far) from the 2007 hits related to the Bernie Kerik indictment and the controversy surrounding using his mayoral travel expense for trips involving his future wife (but for at the time his secret girlfriend).
Rudy needs to get out and talk more, which is what he does quite effectively with Glenn Reynolds of Instapundit and Dr. Helen Smith. Giuliani, spurned as a "gun-grabber" by some Republicans, tells the pair that he not only supports the 2nd Amendment, but he supports in relation to the "individual right" for law-abiding citizens. In short, the 2nd Amendment doesn't just pertain to a "well-regulated militia," Rudy says.
The "Mayor of America" is also a strong supporter of the (wrongly, in my opinion) beleaguered pharmaceutical industry.
Giuliani discusses alternative fuels as well. Reynolds mentions that pesky invasive weed of the southeast, kudzu, as an energy source, which it can be.
I'm admittedly biased, but Gene Sperling, Hillary Clinton's economic adviser, follows, not very well, a tough act in this podcast. Sperling discusses tax rebates a $70 billion economic stimuli to jump start the economy under an HRC presidency. As for the latter--after two listens--I couldn't figure out how Sperling plans to finance it.
Which brings to mind this 2004 comment made by Senator Clinton, which will haunt her if she wins the Democratic presidential nomination:
Many of you are well enough off that ... the tax cuts may have helped you. We're saying that for America to get back on track, we're probably going to cut that short and not give it to you. We're going to take things away from you on behalf of the common good.
