Barry Bonds of the San Francisco Giants passed up the great Henry Aaron this evening to become baseball's all time leading home run hitter as the Giants hosted the Washington Nationals.
I'm glad he did it on the West Coast. That's because many people residing in the Eastern and Central time zones were asleep when it happened.
In 1974 watched Henry Aaron hit his record-breaking home run on NBC on a Monday evening, it was about 8:00pm Chicago time. Lots of people saw that homer.
The case against Bonds and his alleged use of steroids is circumstantial, but those circumstances are convincing to me and many others: In short, don't reserve any hotel rooms in for Hall of Fame weekend in Cooperstown any time soon, Barry.
