Wal-Mart, the company the Left loves to hate, seems to be quite popular in the bluest part of the blue state of Michigan, the Detroit area.
According the the Detroit Free Press, more that 5,000 Michiganders applied for just 300 jobs at the new 210,000 sq. ft. Wal-Mart Supercenter in Livonia, a suburb of the Motor City.
The new store will probably look a lot like the pictured above, a Wal-Mart Supercenter I shopped at in Topeka, Kansas last month. It was the first time I ever stepped foot in a Supercenter, and the good news is, it's huge. That's kind of the bad news too, since every day I was in Kansas, I shopped a Supercenter, and if you're trying to buy five or six things, it can take a lot of time to grab everything.
But what the heck, I was on vacation.
For the uninitiated, Wal-Mart Supercenters are Wal-Marts that sell groceries in addition to the other items such as clothing, electronics, and housewares found at most other Wal-Marts. Kind of like the Meijer stores popular throughout Michigan.
