From the 100th Meridian

Actually, according to my Telenav GPS device, the 100th Meridian is a couple of miles west of here. not too far from the 122 mile marker on Interstate 70.

Of course the 100th Meridian is the beginning, from the perspective of an easterner, of the American West.

As was the case when I drove through Dodge City two days ago, I didn't see a sign marking the spot.

However, on I-80 in the town of Cozad, Nebraska, there is a 100th Meridian museum that I'll visit someday.

In my rear view mirror today are the Monument Rocks and the El Quartelejo Pueblo Ruins. Next is the Smoky Valley Scenic Byway.
