Five Dem presidential candidates speak at trial lawyer convention
While undoubtedly being cautiously eyed by nervous convention service managers, five Democratic presidential candidates spoke at the semi-annual meeting of the nation's largest trial lawyer's group, the American Association for Justice.
The paired words "trial lawyers" give many people, and understandably so, sick feelings in their stomachs. So last year the group changed its name to a more, for now, palatable name.
At one time, the American Civil Liberties Union probably sounded harmless.
The candidates who spoke...make that pandered...to the litigious group at Chicago's Hyatt Regency Hotel were Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton, Bill Richardson, Joe Biden, and of course, one of their very own, John Edwards.
