Carol Moseley Braun mugged on Chicago's South Side

Breaking news from the Chicago Tribune, free registration required.

Former Ill. Senator and onetime Democratic presidential candidate was attacked early this morning in front of her South Side Chicago home--she and a family member were returning home after attending a play.

From the Chicago Tribune:

Moseley Braun was outside her front when she was approached by a man who was believed to have a knife.

The man tried to steal her purse, and in the struggle her wrist was broken.

A passing University of Chicago student helped Moseley Bruan fight off the attacker, Lampe said.
