Bremer backs Bush Iraq plan

Outside of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, I don't think any MSM outlets covered L. Paul Bremer's speech in the Gateway City last night.

Bremer, the former chief administrator of the Coalition Provisional Authority in Iraq and a longtime state department diplomat, supports the troop surge in Iraq.

From that paper:

"Leaving Iraq will not change that hatred," Bremer told about 2,000 people at Powell Symphony Hall. "It will only make them think they've got us on the run."

Staying to help create a "relatively stable, democratic Iraq" could present a model for the rest of the region, he said.
