Biden making it official for 2008 in his longshot bid

Sen. Joseph Biden (D-Del) must have the biggest ego in Washington--quite a accomplishment. He's planning a presidential run, and he doesn't have any skeletons in his closet: That's because they've been discovered already.

Consider:

Biden has the taint of plagiarism hanging over his head from his prior presidential run, where he repeated almost word from word a speech from a British politician.

Even on relaxed senatorial standards, Biden is considered long-winded. During last year's Samuel Alito confirmation hearing, Biden asked Alito just five questions, then spent almost all of his allotted thirty minutes giving a ponderous speech.

Then there is this comment about Indian-Americans made last year by Biden:

"I've had a great relationship. In Delaware, the largest growth in population is Indian-Americans moving from India. You cannot go to a 7-Eleven or a Dunkin' Donuts unless you have a slight Indian accent. I'm not joking," Biden said.

Here's some trivia: Former Commerce Secretary William Daley headed Gore's 2000 campaign. The first presidential campaign he worked on was Biden's abortive 1988 attempt. Don't look for a reunion for Daley and Biden. He's moved up and on the Obama team.
