Home of Indiana soldier killed in Iraq egged--Phelps visit to his funeral threatened

Sgt. Rickey Jones of Kokomo, Indiana was killed by a roadside bomb in Iraq last week.

On Saturday, the Jones home in Kokomo was egged, according to AP. Menacing phone calls have been made to the Jones home, the caller says: "I'm glad your son is dead."

More bad news may be headed to Kokomo: Fred Phelps and his vile Westboro Baptist Church is threatening to picket Sgt. Jones funeral next week. Phelps and his minions often pull a "Sly Stone" and blow off a promised appearance--but to no one's disappointment.

Meanwhile in Indianapolis, the state legislature is hurrying along a bill that will make it illegal in Indiana to picket within 500 feet of a funeral. Gov. Mitch Daniels says he will sign the bill, and once signed, it will become law immediately-- possibly before Jones' Monday funeral.
