As I touched on in my Platte River post from last night, many of the 19th century pioneer trails passed through Nebraska, one of those trails was the
California Trail. This picture was taken a quarter of a mile from yesterday's Platte River picture.

here.The California Trail was the route that many fortune seekers took to California during the Gold Rush. Farmers, entrepreneurs, and people just looking to get away from the troubles back east followed them.
