Senator Hillary Clinton will be part of New York's official delegation when the host city for the 2012 SummerOlympic Games. NYC never had much of a chance (too much anti-Americanism out there, the US hosted games in 1996 and 2002), but she'll be travelling to Singapore, where the announcement will be made.
What little chance New York had flowed down the Hudson River, when plans for a Midtown Manhattan stadium fell through a few weeks ago, and the Olympic stadium site was shifted to Queens.
Advice to Hillary: Think Academy Awards, and give that smile and applause when someone else is the winner.
