Cancel culture punishes woman for something she said when she was 15

Yesterday I blogged about the leftist chief judge of Cook County, Illinois who wants to create a third branch of courts here, to cover young adults up to age 26, because their brains aren't fully developed until then.

In Tennessee an 18-year-old woman, Mimi Groves, was accepted by the University of Tennessee--and added to its national championship cheelreading squad. But when a fellow high school student, Jimmy Galligan, spread a three-second Snapchat video from 2016 earlier this year, her offer to join the cheerleading squad was rescinded and she was compelled to back out of attending UT.

In that video Groves used the "N" word.

She was 15.

So 18-26-year-old criminals in Illinois, if Judge Evans gets his way, will presumably get softer treatment from a new court system, but 15-year-olds can't be forgiven for foolishness.

No one is defending Groves' used of the "N" word and she has apologized.

Her life has been harmed, maybe irreparably, by the cancel culture mob because of something, not criminal by the way, that she uttered when she legally still a child.

Society has taken a dark turn.

A great idea for an SNL sketch: A Boston-born woman who pretends to be Spanish who marries Alec Baldwin

Alec Baldwin has made a name for himself on Saturday Night Live with his Donald Trump impression,

Here's an idea for an SNL skit: Let's have Baldwin marry a Boston-area woman who with an unsteady foreign accent who claims to be from Spain. Only she attended an elite high school and college in the northeast.

Pretty funny right? Maybe.

But it's true. Hilaria Baldwin, Alec's wife, was born in Boston as Hillary Hayward-Thomas. She's a fraud and she's admitted it

At least Alec Baldwin, a big-time leftist, doesn't claim to Donald Trump.

Newsom, this isn't working | Kim Klacik

Gov. Gavun Newsom of California issued another strict lockdown order earlier this month.

And worse than other places COVID-19 is spreading there. Kim Klacik is right.

It isn't working, Newsom.

Does adulthood begin at 26 now? Chief judge in Chicago wants to add new court branch for young adults

Cook County (Chicago) Chief Judge Timothy Evans, the Illinois Supreme Court Newsletter reports, says a special court should be created, a third branch, for "adults" between 18 and 26.

There already is a juvenile criminal court and one for everyone else. "The time has come for the establishment of a third branch of courts at the circuit court level in the State of Illinois," Evans, a former alderman and onetime Chicago mayoral candidate writes, "a court that recognizes the intermediate stage of biological and social development between children and mature adults."

So young adult brains can't fathom between right and wrong? Perhaps they shouldn't be trusted to vote either? Or be allowed to purchase alchohol until turning 26? That age, thanks to the ObamaCare provision allowing parents to keep their grown-up children on their health insurance plans, is shaping up to be the new normal for adulthood.

While we're at it lets stop these "adults" from entering into contracts too. That would include of course renting or buying property, as well as financing or leasing a motor vehicle. Okay, I don't support any of those things. But I am vehemently opposed to adding a third branch of criminal courts to the two we have in Illinois.

As the old expession goes, "Don't do the crime, if you can't do the time."

Chicago values: Ex-alderman charged with DUI and reckless driving

Here's a follow-up a story this morning.

"Chicago values" are in play. Remember, every 18 months or so a Chicago alderman is sentenced to prison.

And a former member of the Chicago City Council is in serious trouble, Proco "Joe" Moreno, who represented the 1st Ward until the spring of 2019.

The Chicago Police Department says the Moreno was behind the wheel of a 2017 Audi that hit several cars on Astor Street on the Gold Coast before colliding with a tree. His fellow Democrat, Governor JB Pritzker, lives on that street.

Moreno has already been accused of filing a false police report in regards to a bizarre incident last year where he reported his 2017 Audi stolen. Only he loaned the luxury car to his girlfriend. The GF, now an ex, is suing Moreno for defamation.

Oh is this the same Audi?

CWB Chicago has been the lead on this story--putting the anemic local media to shame. According to its sources Moreno, who was defeated last year in his reelection attempt, was found after the crashes to have an alcohol blood content of .329. The DUI limit for alcohol is .08 in Illinois.

About "Chicago values."

In 2012 Moreno tried to block the opening of a Chick-fil-A restaurant in his ward because its CEO opposed same-sex marriage. Then-mayor Rahm Emanuel criticized the chicken restaurant for not having "Chicago values."

Earlier post

Car registered to former Chicago alderman slams into row of cars and a tree on Gold Coast

Car registered to former Chicago alderman slams into row of cars and a tree on Gold Coast

Last night an Audi registered to former Chicago alderman Proco "Joe" Moreno of the 1st Ward slammed into a line of cars parked on a Gold Coast before hitting a tree. CWB Chicago broke that news this morning.

The driver of the vehicle has not been named. CBS Chicago says the driver is a 48-year-old man. Moreno is also 48. Moreno is a scumbag on so many levels. In 2012 Moreno for a while blocked a permit for Chick-fil-A to open a restaurant in his ward because of the president of the chicken restaurant's opposition to gay marriage. At that time same-sex marriage was not permitted in most states. Mayor Rahm Emanuel weighed in saying that Chick-fil-A violated "Chicago values."

Last year Moreno reported his Audi--I don't know if was the same luxury vehicle--stolen. But the car was loaned to his girlfriend. Moreno, who was defeated in his reelection bid, was charged for filing a false police report. According to CWB Chicago Moreno has been accused of insurance fraud. The now ex-girlfriend is suing Moreno for defamation

Moreno, to be fair, is the one who possesses "Chicago values."

RV played recording that explosion was imminent in Nashville

Downtown Nashville in 2018
More news from Tennessee:

From Fox Nashville:

A recording believed to be coming from an RV which exploded in Nashville on Christmas morning prompted police officers to help get residents to safety before the explosion wreaked havoc on downtown.
Metro Nashville Police spokesman Don Aaron and Chief John Drake stated during a press conference officers had responded to the area for a shots fired call when they heard a recording coming from the vehicle and took the warning seriously, prompting them to help residents evacuate the area.
Aaron says several officers sprung into action and there have been reports of hearing loss from some officers and one was knocked off his feet during the blast which is being investigated as intentional.

Police: Christmas morning explosion in Nashville "an intentional act"

Downtown Nashville in 2018

Christmas took a dark turn this morning. Pray for those injured, whose homes and businesses have been destroyed, and those who may not have jobs after today's explosion in Nashville.

From the Tennesseean:

Nashville authorities believe an explosion that occurred in downtown Nashville early Christmas morning was an "intentional act" and sparked by a vehicle.
Police came across a suspicious RV parked outside a nearby AT&T building near Second Avenue and Commerce Street before 6 a.m., when initially responding to calls of shots fired in the area, said Metro police spokesperson Don Aaron.
There were no immediate evidence of any shooting but officers alerted the department's bomb squad, which was en route when a "significant explosion" happened about thirty 30 minutes later, Aaron said.
Just before the blast, officers were conducting door-to-door checks in the area and had redirected a man walking his dog along the street.

Wizzard - I Wish It Could Be Christmas Everyday (Official Music Video)

Before there was the Electric Light Orchestra where was The Move. Its leader and artistic force was Roy Wood. Like Small Faces it was one of the British Invasion bands that didn't catch fire here.

A late addition to The Move's line up was Jeff Lynne.

Wood and Lynne went on to form ELO, which was intended to be a side project for the more established act.

But Move moved on to form Wizzard and Lynne stayed with ELO. Here's Wizzard--one of the great hairy bands of all time--belting out "I Wish It Could Be Christmas Everyday."

And you can hear a bit of ELO here.

And there's a great rave up at the end. With kids!

Merry Christmas everyone!

Lightfoot lied: She knew about botched Chicago police raid

Not only is Mayor Beetlejuice a leftist but she's a liar too.

From ABC Chicago:

A woman whose home was wrongfully raided by Chicago police last year is speaking out about what happened. Mayor Lori Lightfoot admitted Thursday that she knew about the botched police raid that left Anjenette Young, an innocent woman, handcuffed with no clothes on.

She called what happened in that home a "colossal failure" and has ordered changes to make sure it doesn't happen again.
Twenty-four hours after claiming she only learned about the case of Young on Tuesday, Mayor Lightfoot admitted she didn't remember the case until seeing the video for the first time this week and reviewing emails.
"I don't have any specific recollection of it," Lightfoot said. "It was in November when I was probably focused on budget issues and getting our budget passed through city council."

Illinois' failed governor proposing $700 million in spending cuts--but even with lockdowns he hasn't laid off a single state employee

Downtown Chicago during the spring lockdown
Illinois has been in various forms of lockdown for nine months now. For instance, Illinois' DMV, the Secretary of State office, is shuttered until next month. They are collecting their pay checks for what?

Nothing.

I mean is the SoS giving virtual driving exams?

How much online training can anyone do?

The time to cut spending was--nine months ago. Actually earlier, but I'm in a kind mood because its the holiday season.

Of course the revenue shortfall is largely because of the COVID-19 outbreak and Gov. J.B.Prtitzker's draconian lockdown.

More from CBS Chicago:

Facing a nearly $4 billion budget shortfall for the rest of the current fiscal year – due to revenue lost as a result of the pandemic, and the failure of his signature graduated income tax plan – Gov. JB Pritzker on Tuesday announced $700 million in spending cuts.

“The pandemic has caused every state in the nation to face tremendous revenue shortfalls, and Illinois is no exception,” Pritzker said Tuesday afternoon. Pritzker said his $711 million in planned cuts to state agencies under his direct control is just “a first step” toward balancing the budget, and he called on state lawmakers to come to the table with further proposed budget cuts.

The governor in particular called out Republicans who vehemently opposed his proposed graduated income tax hike, which voters rejected in November.

His budget plan was counting on $1.4 billion in new revenue from the graduated income tax plan, which would have resulted in the same or lower tax rates for 97% of the state, while increasing taxes on those making more than $250,000.
Lies. Pritzker and the Democrats began plotting for this tax hike many months before COVID hit. Illinois' finances, largely because of the recklessness of House-Speaker-For-Life Boss Michael Madigan have been dire for decades. Pritzker is a phony--he rode the Madigan Machine into office.

And Prtizker made things worse.

Meanwhile Illinois' lapdog media won't ask Pritzker this easy question: "Why no layoffs in Springfield?"

House GOP demands hearing on Big Tech's suppression of Hunter Biden's alleged influence peddling

Fact. Big Tech, particularly Twitter and Facebook, suppressed, successfully I'd like to add, the Hunter Biden laptop story that revealed the former vice president son's alleged influence peddling schemes.

Last week news broke that a federal investigation of Hunter's business dealings and tax returns has been going on for two years.

More from Fox News:

House Republicans have doubled down on their request for an emergency hearing on Big Tech's censorship of stories damaging to Hunter Biden, the president-elect's son, just days before the Nov. 3 election.
All 18 GOP members of the House Oversight Committee are demanding that the Democratic-led committee hold a hearing to investigate Twitter and Facebook's "unjustifiable censorship" of the New York Post's reporting on Biden's foreign business entanglements.
The hearing is especially warranted since Biden revealed after the election that he is under federal investigation for his "tax affairs," the GOP members say in a new letter obtained first by Fox News. "Reporting indicates this investigation is related to his overseas business dealings," the House Republicans wrote.
"In light of Hunter Biden's admission that he is under investigation, especially after Big Tech's unjustifiable censorship of the New York Post's report, we are renewing our hearing request."

Cleveland Indians to drop nickname

It won't be long before the perpetually aggrieved come after all nicknames connected with Native Americans, such as the Chicago Blackhawks.

The retired "Redskins" nickname of the Washington NFL franchise, which is arguably offensive, only offended a plularity of Native Americas according to a 2020 poll. The Cleveland team has used the "Indians" nickname for over 100 years.

From Cleveland.com:

The 2021 season will be the last that a baseball team plays as the “Indians” in Cleveland.

A source confirmed to cleveland.com that the club will announce this week its intention to play under the same name and uniforms through 2021, but will drop “Indians” after the upcoming season. A new name has not yet been decided. The New York Times was first to report on Sunday that the name change is imminent.

The Times also indicated the club is considering moving forward without a replacement name. That move would mirror the situation in Washington, where the city’s NFL franchise dropped its longtime “Redskins” moniker prior to the 2020 season and is playing as the “Washington Football Team” until a new name is chosen.

So it begins: Gap closing Chicago North Michigan Avenue store

North Michigan Avenue in June
after first round of riots
Yeah, the corporate suits are claiming that The Gap is closing its massive Magnificient Mile store in Chicago as part of a restructuring plan that will close 350 other retail outlets. But I am not buying it. North Michigan Avenue was devestated by two rounds or rioting and looting. The reality is, in my opinion, that The Gap realized the bloom is off the rose on the Mile and Chicago, and North Michigan Avenue, is on the decline and not worth the headaches.

I predict many more departures. I will be right.

Democratic California congressman Swalwell blames Trump for story on his ties to Chinese honey trap

US Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-CA), whose brief presidential campaign excited dozens but no more, clearly is suffering from Trump Derangement Syndrome.

From Politico:
Following a report that linked him to an alleged Chinese spy, Democratic Rep. Eric Swalwell suggested the information was leaked to hurt him because of his frequent and loud criticism of President Donald Trump.

Axios reported Monday that Swalwell was among a group of prominent Bay Area Democrats targeted by a Chinese national named Fang Fang or Christina Fang, allegedly an operative for China’s Ministry of State Security, the country’s premier intelligence organization. Fang first interacted with Swalwell — now a member of the House Intelligence Committee — when he served on the Dublin City Council in California.

Swalwell defeated longtime Democratic incumbent Pete Stark in 2012, a stunning upset that made the young pol a star member of the incoming freshman class. By 2014, Fang was reportedly bundling donor checks for Swalwell’s reelection campaign, according to Axios. Fang also helped place an intern in Swalwell’s office.
From the original source, Axios:
The woman at the center of the operation, a Chinese national named Fang Fang or Christine Fang, targeted up-and-coming local politicians in the Bay Area and across the country who had the potential to make it big on the national stage.
Through campaign fundraising, extensive networking, personal charisma, and romantic or sexual relationships with at least two Midwestern mayors, Fang was able to gain proximity to political power, according to current and former U.S. intelligence officials and one former elected official.
But it's Donald Trump's fault.

Chicago alderman's restaurant caught violating city's indoor dining ban

Another left-wing politician has been exposed as a COVID-19 lockdown hypocrite.

From ABC Chicago:
Ann Sather Restaurant is among the latest businesses facing possible action from the city for violations of the indoor dining ban, which is notable not just because it's a Lakeview staple, but also because of who the owner is.
Chicago Alderman Tom Tunney has been a city ally of Mayor Lori Lightfoot, but on this, she was unequivocal.
"Any business found in violation of these guidelines has been and will be held fully accountable. No exceptions," the mayor said.
After being called out on social media, the 44th Ward alderman admitted to an "error in judgment" for allowing regular customers to dine in at one of his Ann Sather restaurants despite the city's ban on indoor dining due to COVID-19.
Ann Sather Restaurant has a sign on its windown declaring that it is open for delivery and pickup business. But it also allowed a few special customers to eat inside. Tunney claims these VIPs followed social distancing and mask guidelines. Yeah right. Do you seriously believe these chosen few sat six feet apart from each other and wore masks while eating?

Sheesh.

Cudos to the great Second City Cop blog for breaking this story and goes into detail about "the VIP Room" at Ann Sather.

Mayor Beetlejuice is a hypocrite too. She also broke earlier lockdown rules by having her hair done by a stylist. Although to be fair Chicagoans have little to fear over Lightfoot's hair--it's what's inside her head that is troubling. And a few days she appeared maskless among a large outdoor crowd celebrating Joe Biden being declared the victor in the presidential race Lightweight imposed her latest lockdown.

On the West Side three men and one teen girl was wounded in a mass shooting in West Garfield Park.

What about the vaccine? Biden to call for wearing of masks during first 100 days (a suspiciously round number) of his presidency

Liberals are thralls to the past. Nearly a century ago Franklin D. Roosevelt used his First 100 Days--a term than left-wing historians have been swooning over ever since--to ram his New Deal through Congress. A dozen years ago the most leftist president in American history,  Barack Obama, touted his 100 days early on his his presidency.

Now Joe Biden picks--that number 100--to be the number of days he's recommending Americans wear masks because of the COVID-19 epidemic. Where's the science in his choosing that number? Why not 92 days? Or 106?

And wait, don't we have a vaccine for COVID-19 coming soon?

It's all about control, patriots. All about control. And besides, why do so many leftists pols ignore their own health warnings?

Follow the science: Illinois schools are not COVID-19 superspreaders

Penn School, Chicago
The Chicago Teachers Union is on the forefront of the school lockdown movement.

Oh, just follow the science.

From the Chicago Sun-Times:

Even as the region enters its worst period of the pandemic thus far, the vast majority of public and private schools in the Chicago area that have reopened in some capacity this fall have had little confirmed exposure to the coronavirus in the past month, according to a Chicago Sun-Times analysis of state data.
A small fraction of schools have had outbreaks where virus transmission has been traced to school buildings, while high schools have shown to be more likely to experience COVID-19 scares than elementary schools, records show.
Those findings match nationwide figures showing relatively low instances of significant spread in educational settings, especially among younger students, and provide some insight into why health officials nationally and in Chicago have expressed strong confidence that schools are safer to reopen than first thought, even as the pandemic rages on.
The difference between elementary and high school infections also partially explains why Chicago Public Schools has prioritized the return of its youngest students as the district makes its third attempt in January to open its classrooms for the first time since March.

Chicago violence up by half compared to last year

Chicago elected its first leftist mayor last year. So the following news is predictable.

Oh, Chicago's most famous former resident, Barack Obama, is on a media book tour  hawking his third memoir. Why isn't the compliant mainstream media asking him about the city's runaway violence?

From Fox News:

Gun violence continues to plague Chicago streets with the city seeing a significant uptick in shootings and murders compared to last year.

On Tuesday, the Chicago Police Department reported 3,790 people were shot through Nov. 30, compared to 2,403 in the same time period last year. Murders increased by more than half – 716 homicides through the end of November, compared to the 464 murders in 2019.

In 2016, the city saw 715 homicides, a figure that decreased each of the following three years.

Shootings in November increased from 154 last year to 267, according to police figures. Nearly 340 people were shot over the month as well.

Tucker: Elites are using identity politics to preserve class system

The left is not really interested in diversity. Intellectual diversity? No way? Class diversity? No. They want to protect their elitist bubble from interlopers.

Another lockdown hypocrite exposed: This time it's a California county supervisor violating order by eating outdoors at a restaurant

It's about control, sheeple. The leftists don't believe their own propaganda.

From Fox Los Angeles:

Just hours after Los Angeles County Supervisor Sheila Kuehl voted to ban outdoor dining at L.A. County’s 31,000 restaurants over COVID-19 safety concerns, she visited a restaurant in Santa Monica, where she dined outdoors, FOX 11 has learned on Monday.
FOX 11 received multiple tips that shortly after her vote on Tuesday, Kuehl was seen dining outside at Il Forno Trattoria in Santa Monica, an Italian restaurant near her house that she has previously described as one of her 'favorite' restaurants.
During Tuesday’s L.A. County Board of Supervisors meeting, Kuehl referred to outside dining as “a most dangerous situation” over what she described as a risk of tables of unmasked patrons potentially exposing their servers to the coronavirus.
“This is a serious health emergency and we must take it seriously,” Kuehl said.

Message from Lightfoot's budget for Chicago: Move out if you live in the city and avoid visiting if you don't

Michigan Avenue this summer
Chicago's next budget has much to hate. Mayor Lori Lightfoot is blaming the current revenue shortfall on COVID-19, of course she leaves out of her messaging that her draconian lockdown has made it worse. And Beetlejuice's weak response to two rounds of widespread rioting and looting--conducted by many people not wearing masks, has put the nation's third-largest city--for now--into an economic freefall.

The budget, unusual for Chicago, passed with a small majority in the City Council.

Among the tax increases are a $94 million property tax increase that comes with automatic annual price of living increases to pay for unfunded pension liabilities. That problem has its roots in the failed 22-year mayorality of Richard M. Daley, who left office in 2011. Daley's successor, Rahm Emanuel, just six years ago signed into law a masssive $750 million property tax hike to pay for--of course--public worker pensions. Emanuel now favors a state constitutional amdendment to remove its pension guarantee clause.

Chicago's gasoline prices are noticeably higher than where I live in suburban Cook County, just as gas is cheaper in the collar counties and Indiana and Wisconsin. Have you ever noticed how few gas stations are near Chicago's borders? I have. Well, Lightfoot's budget includes a three-cent gasoline tax increase. Keep in mind that drivers in Chicago are confronted with omnipresent red-light cameras andpothole- ridden streets.

And that's not all!

Chicagoans also have to endure speeding-cameras. And the threshold for receiving a ticket from one of them has been lowered to driving just six miles-per-hour over the speed limit.

There is still more to hate!

Shoppers in Chicago have to suffer with a higher sales tax rate than elsewhere in Illinois. And if you find the courage to buy something, such as groceries, you'll have to pay seven cents per plastic bag.

Oh, murders are way up compared to recent years. Even more so are car jackings

Why come to Chicago? Why live there?

Winning: Dow closes over 30,000 for first time

The Donald Trump economy continues to roar.

Tuesday’s rally put the Dow on pace for its biggest monthly gain since 1987, up more than 13%.

“The Dow passing 30,000 represents achievement of an arbitrarily-set milestone, but it also captures the sentiment of the moment for investors,” said Scott Knapp, chief market strategist at CUNA Mutual Group.

Hatred: Leftists force Feinstein to quit as top Democrat on Senate Judiciary Committee because she hugged Lindsey Graham

Don't believe the leftists about this being a time for "unity." Their idea of unity, which is the same one Barack Obama has, is that Republicans abandon their political positions and march lockstep with the Democrats.

And those Democrats who aren't sufficiently loyal--or worse--if they show friendliness to Republicans--need to be punished and exiled, the leftists believe. They possess a totalitarian mindset.

More from the Daily Mail:

California Senator Dianne Feinstein said she will step down from her role as the top Democrat on the Senate Judiciary Committee, giving up the powerful spot after public [My comment: the Daily Mail means "leftist"] criticism of her bipartisan outreach and her handling of Supreme Court Justice Amy Coney Barrett's confirmation hearings.

Feinstein, 87, said in a statement that she would not seek the position in the next Congress.

Tensions came to a head during the Barrett hearings, when Feinstein closed out the proceedings with an embrace for Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., and a public thanks to Graham for a job well done.
