Romney leads new Des Moines Register poll, Santorum surges #iacaucus #tcot #teaparty #gop

The Des Moines Register just released its last poll before Tuesday's Iowa Caucuses.

The poll, conducted Tuesday through Friday, shows support at 24 percent for Romney, the former governor of Massachusetts; 22 percent for Paul, a Texas congressman; and 15 percent for the surging Rick Santorum, a former U.S. senator from Pennsylvania.

Rounding out the field, in results from the full, four-day poll: former U.S. House Speaker Newt Gingrich, 12 percent, Texas Gov. Rick Perry, 11 percent, and Minnesota Congresswoman Michele Bachmann, 7 percent.

Video: 18 Occupy New Year's Eve arrests at Iowa Caucuses

It has been a busy New Year's Eve so far for the occupiers in Iowa. The Des Moines Register says 18 of the occupiers have been arrested so far on New Year's Eve. Ten of the OWSers were busted outside of Michele Bachmann's Urbandale office, eight others outside of the offices of Rick Santorum and Newt Gingrich.

The Register has video of the goonery-set-to-pounding-drumming outside of Bachmann's office.

Marooned in Marin: Just 5 Occupy Wall Street protesters in NYC

Marooned in Marin's wife was in New York City earlier this week and she could only find five Occupy Wall Street protesters there. Lower Manhattan was where of course OWS was founded.

Last month I could find only five occupiers in Chicago's Loop.
