Mickey Rooney dead at 93, last surviving actor from Kinks' "Celluloid Heroes"

From Vaudeville in the 1990s through The Muppets in 2011, Mickey Rooney's career was unparalleled.

While the verse about Mickey Rooney is left out in this performance, "And if you stamped on Mickey Rooney, he would still turn round and smile," this mid-1970s performance of the Kinks' Celluloid Heroes can be treated as a funeral dirge today, as Rooney passed away yesterday at 93.

This lyric could have been written for Rooney:
And those who are successful
Be always on your guard
Success walks hand in hand with failure
Along Hollywood Boulevard.
Rooney certainly knew about both.

Rest in peace, Mickey.
