We are not better off than we were four years ago
Earlier today on CBS' Face the Nation, Maryland Gov. Martin O'Malley told host Bob Schieffer, "No," before going on a rant against George W. Bush. To his credit, Schieffer replied, "George Bush is not on the ballots."
Four years ago--September 3, 2008-- George Bush was the president and leading our country to the brink of financial disaster after having started two wars while simultaneously cutting taxes, a tactic unheard of in our country's history. So, I'd say no, we are not better off than four years ago. I can't wait for the Obama campaign to use this as their slogan.
The unemployment rate was 7.8 percent when Obama was sworn in. After peaking above 10 percent, it's been over 8 percent for an unprecedented 42 months.
Obama also inherited a AAA credit rating from Bush. What happened to that?
