Mr. Bean at the Olympics 2012 opening ceremonies

The great Rowan Atkinson performed as Mr. Bean during last night's opening ceremony of the 2012 Summer Olympics.

This portion almost made up for the salute to Britain's dysfunctional socialized health care system, the National Health Service.

Dysfunctional?

UK - 8.2% of GDP spent on health. Life expectancy - 80. 100% coverage.

US - 15.3% of GDP spent on healthcare. Life expectancy - 78. 50 million people not covered.

I think you got your countries mixed up.

And what about the quality of care?

Also, although the UK's population is becoming more diverse, it's a relatively homogeneous group compared to the USA, so using life expectancy as a comparison is a misleading exercise.
