Huntsman dropping out of race

Arches Nat'l Park, Utah
In an odd turn of events, on the day he received the endorsement from South Carolina's most-read newspaper, former Utah governor Jon Huntsman decided to drop out of the presidential race.

There are many things I like about Huntsman but he, or his campaign staff, marketed himself poorly. Yes, reluctantly, marketing is part of politics. By stating he was the most electable of candidates, that message was interpreted by some that he wasn't a conservative.

Huntsman will endorse his fellow Mormon and distant relation, Mitt Romney, with whom he has tussled with on the campaign trail.

We haven't seen the last of Huntsman, I am sure of that. For now he'll be spending a lot more time in Utah--and that can't be too bad.
