Health care rationing supporter Berwick to face questioning, Somewhat Reasonable is live blogging

"Excellent healthcare is by definition redistributional. Britain, you chose well." Donald Berwick, President Obama's choice to lead the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, 2008.

My British ObamaCare series has focused on the disaster known as the National Health Service, the UK's government health care agency. Britain chose poorly.

In a cowardly fashion, Obama chose to use a recess appointment to place Donald Berwick in charge of CMS. He has never been questioned by the Senate--until this morning. He is now testifying in front of the Senate Finance Committee--I am watching it now on CSPAN.

Berwick is in charge of overseeing a 23 percent cut in benefits to doctors who treat Medicare payments--part of the disaster known as ObamaCare. These cuts, unless Congress steps in, begin next month. Yep, next month.

The Heartland Institute's Somewhat Reasonable blog is live-blogging Berwick's testimony.
